Vincent Mai, Vice Chairperson Vincent Mai is chairman and CEO of AEA Investors. AEA is one of the oldest private equity firms in the United States with over $1 billion available for investment to acquire control positions in global, quality technology, and industrial companies. AEA's investor group includes approximately 100 CEO's of major industrial companies located in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

Prior to joining AEA as CEO in 1989, Mr. Mai was a managing director of Lehman Brothers, a leading Wall Street investment banking firm with global operations, where he was employed since 1976. He co-headed Lehman Brothers' investment banking division and was on the Executive Committee. He started his professional career in 1965 at S.G. Warburg and Co., Ltd., a London-based merchant banking firm. After moving to New York in 1969 to work on Warburg's US business, he joined the firm's board of directors in 1973.

In addition to his chairmanship of AEA Investors, Mr. Mai is currently chairman of the Board of Sesame Workshop and also serves on the board of Juilliard School and the University of Cape Town Fund. Mr. Mai's human rights activities include serving as chairman of the Africa Advisory Committee of Human Rights Watch. Mr. Mai's former private sector directorships include Fannie Mae and Dal-Tile. He has also served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the Council on Foreign Relations. He is currently the chairman of the Africa Advisory Board of the Council on Foreign Relations.
