Prior to joining the ICTJ, Bruni Burres was Director of the Human Rights Watch International Film Festival. While at HRW, Bruni played a lead role in conceptualizing programming and managing all outreach and publicity for the Festival. She launched an annual festival in London, designed the festival’s traveling showcases, partnered with MediaRights.org on the Media That Matters, an on-line human rights film festival, and developed the Festival’s High School Program. In tandem with her role at HRW, Bruni has served as a Senior Consultant for the Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program. In this role, she has expanded the roster of filmmakers working with the program and has broadened the human rights themes that the program explores. She has played a key role in evaluating documentary rough-cuts and works-in-progress and deepening collaborations between filmmakers and cultural institutions. Bruni's experience also includes work as an International Marketing Strategist at RM Associates in New York and as an Associate Story Editor at Triad Artists.

Bruni holds an MA from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University.
