ICTJ Staff and ConsultantsMirna Adjami is a human rights lawyer with a special focus on the Democratic Republic of Congo and francophone central Africa. Her experience in the DRC includes working for a local human rights organization in Lubumbashi (1998), training Congolese lawyers and non-governmental organizations in international human rights and humanitarian law with Global Rights based in Kinshasa (2001-2002), monitoring the 2006 elections with the Carter Center, and other projects. A member of the New York Bar, Mirna practiced immigration and post 9/11 civil rights law with the National Immigrant Justice Center in Chicago and litigated cases challenging discrimination based on ethnicity and citizenship-status in national and regional courts in Europe and Africa with the Open Society Justice Initiative. Mirna is a graduate of Harvard Law School, Brown University, and the Institut d'Etudes Politiques (Paris). |
