Godefroid is one of Congo's leading human rights investigators. He formerly served as Director of Human Rights Training at Justice-Plus, a Bunia (Ituri District) human rights NGO, before becoming Executive Secretary of the organization in 2004. He has also served as Justice-Plus’ representative to the Congolese Coalition on Transitional Justice and the Coordinator of the Iturian Network of Human Rights Organizations (RADHIT). Godefroid has participated in numerous conferences and human rights trainings throughout Africa and Europe (Brussels, The Hague, Strasbourg). He has a university degree in education (French and Latin) from the Institut Supérieur Pédagogique in Bunia.
