ICTJ Staff and ConsultantsGuy MushiataLegal Officer for Combating Impunity, Kinshasa Office Before coming to ICTJ, Guy worked at the Congolese chapter of Lawyers without Borders (ASF-B), a Belgian NGO, where he began as the Rule of Law program officer. He later worked for three years designing and coordinating ASF’s combating impunity program. In this capacity, Guy was responsible for training lawyers, magistrates, and NGOs on international war crimes and advised pro bono legal counsel for war crime victims whose pioneering cases were heard before Congo’s military court system in various jurisdictions in the interior. Shortly before joining ICTJ, Guy organized an expert seminar to harmonize the two draft laws implementing the Rome Statute into Congolese law. Guy received degrees in Development Economics from the Catholic University of Kinshasa and in law from the University of Kinshasa. |
